A Trashy Morning on the Water

Cleanup-8.JPG

This morning myself, and good friend Cody Rubner set out on a mission, to clean up the local waterways for the Captains for Clean Water guide relief cleanup. But first we made a run to the backcountry in search of our first target, redfish and snook. And reds and snook did we find. After catching a few nice fish and releasing them back home to make someone else’s day, we set out for the real target. Trash.

We cruised around in the backwater flats and creeks scanning the banks for plastic and other trash floating around we rounded up quite the haul. Consisting of plastic chairs pieces of a table, bottles and cans we loaded the skiff down pretty quickly. This is a great reminder for all of us guides or weekend anglers, we all have to work together to keep our estuaries clean and well maintained a piece or two every trip can make a huge difference!
