Fishing Report: March 12th 2022

Ask many experienced shallow water anglers what they’re favorite sight in the “skinny water” is, and they’ll probably all have similar answers. Crawlers, or tailing fish of some sort and personally a crawling fish is the most exciting sight on the flats. When tides are down and winds are low hungry redfish hunting crabs and shrimp will get up extremely shallow on the flats, so shallow that they’re backs and tails are exposed out of the water. As water temps rise this becomes a regular sight in the shallows of Flagler Beach and Palm Coast.

Thunder storms also become a regular occurrence this time of year, such as yesterday as it stormed all day until a few hours before dark when a seen a break in the weather and a low tide I knew they would be crawling. So I called buddy up and we set out to find a few fish, and that’s exactly what we did!
