It was windy and chilly this morning leaving the dock in Palm Coast with John, my angler for the day. We set out in search of redfish a staple in the north and central Florida fisheries, the morning started out pretty slow after a few spots with nothing to show for, I headed to a hole that always has a red or two in it, a few minutes after casting a bait in John hooked up with a nice redfish! We snapped a few photos and sent it back home, shortly after that John caught himself a nice flounder to take home for dinner.

After that first red it was like a switch flipped and we steadily caught fish the rest of the trip. After catching lots of redfish on bait I decided to run north where the tide was lower, and target some on artificial lures. Getting to the next spot, we found the school of fish pretty quickly casting artificials at them John picked up a handful more and a few flounder as well. A slow start to the day turned into a great day on the water for us, can’t wait till next year John!
