Fishing Report: April 6th 2022

Spring is here and the fish are chewing, spring is one of my favorite times of the year to fish here in palm coast. Days on the water have been consisting of a great mixed bag of redfish, flounder, trout, snook, jacks and much more. Lots of bait on the flats at first light lately can make for a great topwater bite, using a topwater plug and “walking the dog”, a side to side back and forth motion that causes a commotion on the surface like a wounded baitfish will attract hungry fish to strike. Also with water temps in the lows 70’s the Cobia are here and can be found piggy backing on giant manta rays, using large bucktail jigs can be an effective way to catch these Cobia. Out on the beach with the Cobia big jacks can be found in large schools throwing a topwater plug to these monster will usually result in a explosive eat from multiple fish that’s pretty awesome to watch. Get out there and catch a few!
